Volunteers Still Needed For Delco Shelters

The Delaware County Emergency Response Team and Delaware County Medical Reserve Corps is still seeking volunteers at emergency shelters.

Delaware County is still seeking volunteers who will be willing to be available to assist and help at emergency shelters in the wake of Hurricane Sandy.

The following information was sent by the Delaware County Emergency Response Team and Delaware County Medical Reserve Corps:

Volunteers are still needed for shelters throughout Delaware County. If you are available you will be asked to work a 12-hour shift. Please be sure to bring a "go-kit" with a change of clothes, snacks, gloves, water, etc. We need people as early at 8 am Tuesday. You must register to volunteer at www.serv.pa.gov and affiliate yourself with the Delaware County Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) or the Delaware County Community Emergency Response Team (CERT). Once your registration is received you will be sent additional information about deployments through ServPA.

Those interested should let Volunteer Management Coordinator Ed Kline know as soon as possible at ekline@delcodes.org or 610-308-7529.
