Get Out: Beef n Beer for Fire Victims, Local Author Book Signing

What's going on in and around Media Patch this weekend.

 

This week, enjoy a wide-range of fun in Media Patch. Visit both of Media Patch's libraries this week. Check out a book signing at Media-Upper Providence Library and then hit movie night at the Middletown Library. Also, enjoy a beef and beer while helping out a neighboring family who lost all their belongings in a house fire recently.

There's something for everyone. Check out our best bets below for the activities to hit this weekend and early next week.

 

Local Author Book Signing and Discussion

  • When/Where: Saturday, Aug. 4 at 1-3 p.m. at Media-Upper Providence Free Library, 1 E Front St, in Media
  • Why Go: Visit local author, Doreen McGettigan, for a book signing and discussion on her book, Bristol Boyz Stomp, a true story about the road rage murder of her brother.
  • Cost: Free

Beef and Beer for Local House Fire Victims

  • When/Where: Saturday, Aug. 4 at 5-9 p.m. at Green Ridge Fire House, 2900 Dutton Mill Rd in Aston
  • Why Go: Help the Vadino family, Newtown Square residents, who recently lost everything in their home to a house fire on July 23. Come out for a great time and for an even greater cause.
  • Cost: $25 per person, $40 per couple

Movie Mondays at Middletown Library

  • When/Where: Monday, Aug. 6 at 2 p.m., at Middletown Free Library, 21 N Pennell Rd.
  • Why Go: Catch a flick at the library and enjoy some popcorn from the new vintage popcorn machine. From Here to Eternity is next up on the big screen and the following week will be Top Hat.
  • Cost: Free
