Granite Run Mall Has Small Fire, Opens as Scheduled
An small early-morning fire has done minimal damage to the mall, allowing it to open as scheduled.
Granite Run Mall will open as scheduled at 10 a.m. after a small fire in an elevator pit.
It happened around 5:45 this morning in the center court elevator pit.
According to mall spokesman Aubrey Proud, the damange is minimal.
"The local fire companies were on site and dealt with this quickly and successfully, with no damage other than to the elevator," said a statement on the mall's Facebook page. "Our Mall will open on time at 10 a.m. and have normal hours today through 9:30PM. Please contact a store directly if you'd like to confirm they are open."
