Media-Providence Friends Students Practices Spanish While Visiting Linvilla
Third grade students at Media-Providence Friends School mastered their Spanish vocabulary during a recent trip to Linvilla Orchards.
Everywhere the students looked they found things that they could name and describe en Español.
In addition to finding an abundance of opportunities to use their Spanish vocabulary and discover a few new words 'in situ,' students were treated to an educational hayride.
After the hayride, Farmer Nancy Linvill Dole, an MPFS alum, took students on a tour of the farm's new "green greenhouse" where they learned about its woodchip-burning furnace and geothermal heating systems while they continued to practice their Spanish vocabulary.
The afternoon trip concluded with a stop at the apple sling shots where students tried to direct their apples at targets with Spanish words created especially for their trip.
