Penncrest Hi-Q Team Takes Second in Delco Championship

Penncrest High School hosted and competed in a high stakes county quiz competition on March 6.

Penncrest High School hosted this year's Delaware County Hi-Q Championship on March 6, in which the top three teams in the county competed in an all out quiz bowl battle.

Penncrest came in second with a score of 49. Garnet Valley, the defending champs, held onto their title (scoring 58) and will move on to the national championship round.

Delaware County Christian School made their second appearance to the championship since the 2005-2006 school year. The Knights fought hard and took third in the competition with a score of 36.

The Knights won their first playoff match last week, the first in 17 years, according to the school. Though the team will lose seniors Ryan Simms and Seung-Hyun Kim, according to the school, a number of students will return to the team.

6ABC reports on the heated competition.
