Penncrest Takes Home Hi-Q Championship

It came down to a final math question for the Penncrest Hi-Q team.

Penncrest High School's Hi-Q team beat out Haverford and Marple Newtown high schools this week to win the 2013 championship.

Hi-Q is the oldest academic competition in the country and Penncrest hosted the championship for the fourth time in a row.

The final score was Penncrest 50, Haverford 45, Marple Newtown 44, according to the Delaware County Daily Times.

Penncrest team captain Senior Grace Chang, of Media, brought home the win—and $3,000 in prize money to benefit the student body—with the final math toss-up question, according to the Delco Times.

Penncrest team members are Margaret King, Grace Chang, Alicia Schapire, Jennifer Parmiter, Serena Bachelor, Raman Ishwar, Sumil Patel, Madelaine Else, Gabriel Bury and Spencer Rugen.
