State Police Make 3 DUI Arrests During Memorial Day Holiday
A Delaware County sobriety check point and increased enforcement resulted in three DUI arrests, 196 speeding citations and 89 warnings last weekend State Police announced.
Troopers from the Pennsylvania State Police-Media Barracks made three DUI arrest and issued 10 traffic citations and 89 warnings during a sobriety checkpoint over the Memorial Day holiday weekend.
From May 25 to 28, troopers investigated 14 car crashes, with none being DUI-related crashes, however there was one injury in a crash, according to State Police.
Troopers issued 196 speeding citations, 235 other traffic citations and 53 seat belt violations and four people were cited for not properly securing children in car seats during that time frame, according to State Police.
The State Police remind everyone to wear a seat belt and drive safely.
Motorists are also reminded that they are required to slow down and use caution when they see law enforcement or an emergency vehicle stopped alongside the road with its lights flashing. Drivers must move over to the other lane if possible and reduce their speed as they pass.
