"It'll be about Media and the people of Media, which includes the schools, people at the courthouse and people who visit State Street," McMahon said.

Council is enthusiastic about the opportunity, McMahon said.

Filming is scheduled for September at a cost of $19,800.

The borough is currently working with Delaware County, the Rose Tree Media School District and Media Business Authority regarding the cost.

The air date of the show and five-minute Media segment have not yet been determined.

McMahon said the show will do extensive filming in Media and any footage that does not make air, the borough has the opportunity to purchase that additional footage for an additional $1,500, which it will likely do, he said.

Because Media hosts many events throughout the year, the borough will also share its own video footage with the television show of events like the Halloween Parade, Veteran's Day Parade or Dining Under the Stars to possibly include in the segment.

McMahon said one of the key reasons Media is so popular is because of its public safety and the good work of the over the last 30 years.

"Media is considered one of the safest places in the Philadelphia region," he said. "A lot of different people come to town each day and we wouldn't be able to have the events and things like Dining Under the Stars without public safety."

McMahon said Bradshaw will of course be asked to visit Media himself but as the host of the show it's unlikely he would visit each town that is spotlighted. (But Media is "everyone's hometown" so maybe that gives us leverage).

"It really is a pleasure for Media to be chosen for this show," McMahon said.
