• Music: Check out Separate Ways The Band at 7:30 p.m. at Rose Tree Parks Summer Concert Series. This Journey tribute band will bring you back to the 80s. 
• Movie Night Saturday: Watch The Lorax at Barrall Field in Media at 8 p.m. on Aug. 10
• Recycle: Area 2 Recycling Collection days in Middletown Township on Aug. 7, 8 and 9
• Fair Fun: Delaware County 4-H Summer Fair, from 1 to 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, Aug. 10, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 395 Bishop Hollow Road in Newtown Square
• Traffic: Check on your commute on the PennDOT traffic cameras before you leave the house. But the traffic will likely be terrible—it's traffic.
• Weather: The forecast calls for temperatures to reach the mid-80s with scattered thunderstorms. Things are expected to cool down to the low 70s in the evening. 
• History: Per the History Channel, on this day in 2012, a JetBlue flight attendant quit his job via the plane's escape slide and Gerald R. Ford was sworn in as president in 1974 following Richard Nixon's resignation.
