Penncrest High School is proud to announce that Ms. Concetta Mattioni, Art Teacher, has a painting that has been accepted into “The Best of the Best” Art exhibition at Shippensburg University. “The Best of the Best” is an exhibition featuring the best art work produced by K-12 art teachers from across the state of Pennsylvania. The exhibition is on view in the Shippensburg University Kauffman Gallery from February 15 - March 6, 2014.
Ms. Mattioni has taught at Penncrest since 1993 and has been the Art Department Coordinator since 2000. She has also taught at The University of the Arts in Philadelphia, and the Rhode Island School of Design Museum of Art in Providence, RI. She has received numerous awards and honors including: The Robert Copeland Memorial Award for Drawing, the 2012 PAFA Outstanding Art Educator of the Year, and the CLAES Nobel Educator of Distinction. Ms. Mattioni is also included in the “Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers.”
The Kauffman Gallery is housed in the Huber Art Center at Shippensburg University. Gallery hours are Monday through Thursday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Wednesday 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Friday 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., and Saturday 1 p.m. - 3 p.m.
