PENNCREST AMONG AMERICA'S MOST CHALLENGING HIGH SCHOOLS
Penncrest High School is proud to announce that it has been included in The Washington Post’s list of “Most Challenging High Schools in America.” The school ranks among the best of the best in both the state and nation. Only nine percent of the approximately 22,000 public high schools in the nation made it to the Washington Post’s list this year.
Principal Richard Gregg is pleased to see his school on the list once again. "This rating is a good indicator of a high school’s commitment to preparing students for college. Ultimately, our job is to prepare students for life after high school, and for the majority of our students, college is the next step. The faculty and staff of Penncrest strive to prepare all of our students to meet success in the adult world, whatever path they choose."
Washington Post education columnist Jay Mathews has been ranking the most challenging schools in the country and the D.C. region for 16 years.
