Read Across America Day at Rose Tree Elementary School

On March 10, 2014, Rose Tree Elementary School celebrated Read Across America Day. From Kindergarten through fifth grade, students engaged in activities that honored reading and Dr. Seuss. Students contributed to RTE’s Read for Ronald campaign and the Ronald McDonald House for the privilege of wearing their pajamas to school on this special day!

Dr. Margaret Barney, art teacher at Rose Tree Elementary, created striped hats in the style of The Cat in the Hat with students in Kindergarten through third grade.

Guest readers from the community entertained the students with special visits and read beloved children’s books. Guest readers included Mr. James Wigo, Superintendent of Rose Tree Media School District, who shared a favorite children’s book with second grade students.
