Eggs Collected in Less Than 4 Minutes at Great Media Easter Egg Hunt

More than 120 children scooped up 5,000 candy-filled eggs at the Great Media Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday.

More than 100 children swept through collecting nearly 5,000 eggs in less than four minutes at the on Saturday.

Candy-filled eggs in a rainbow of colors dotted the park’s landscape before the race, with separate areas cordoned off for children ages 1 through 3 and 4 through 7. And a section of grass at the bottom of the hill was reserved for children ages 8 and older to gather eggs.

At the sound of a bullhorn, kids streamed down the hill and scooped up eggs.

In just two minutes, the eggs in the area for ages 4 through 7 disappeared from the ground.

In the section for ages 1 through 3, the children toddled around more slowly. They were more choosy about their eggs.

Overall, the eggs did not last long.

"It was over in four minutes, less than four minutes," Jim Higgins, a member of the Media Lions Club, said of the hunt.

Children at the egg hunt also had the chance to meet the Easter Bunny, who was on hand before and during the event.
