Get Out: PSU Festival, Pumpkin Days, Author Luncheon

It's a busy weekend in and around Media Patch this weekend. See what's going on.

This weekend is full of fun fall things to do. Penn State Brandywine will host its 2nd Annual Fall Festival and Tyler Arboretum will host its Pumpkin Days. Enjoy the crisp fall air this weekend and attend Riddle Hospitals Fall Festival or meet a best-selling author at a luncheon.

PSU Brandywine Fall Festival

  • When/Where: Saturday, October 20, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., at Penn State Brandywine on the campus lawn.
  • Why Go: Penn State Day kicks off with a 5K run/1-mile walk at 10 a.m. and will then feature carnival-like games and food, such as pumpkin painting, a pie-eating contest, a diaper derby for the little tikes, a Best Dressed Penn Stater competition and live entertainment.
  • Cost: Free

Pumpkin Days at Tyler Arboretum

  • When/Where: Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 20-21 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Tyler Arboretum, 515 Painter Rd, Media
  • Why Go: Pick a pumpkin, create a scarecrow, jump in the moon bounce, make crafts, play games and enjoy a hayride. All parking is at the Penn State Brandywine Campus and a free shuttle will transport you to the Arboretum. 
  • Cost: Members-$4, Non-members-$10 for adults

Author Luncheon w/ Marisa de los Santos

  • When/Where: Saturday, Oct. 20, from noon to 3 p.m., at Generations Restaurant, 9 State Rd, Media
  • Why Go: Delaware County Libraries System will host the 3rd Annual Adult Author Luncheon and Book Signing with Marisa de los Santos, author of Belong To Me, Love Walked In, and Falling Together.
  • Cost: $21, Tickets available at county libraries and online

Family Fall Fest at Riddle Hospital

  • When/Where: Saturday, Oct. 20, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Health Care Center at Riddle Memorial Hospital, 1118 W Baltimore Pike, Media
  • Why Go: Enjoy free health screenings, fitness demonstrations and wellness activities. Tour an ambulance, get your face painted and enjoy food, music, games and raffles.
  • Cost: Free
