'Radnor Strong' Shows Its Support After Tragedy

Immediately after the community learned of the deaths of Linda and Timothy Rooney, strangers to the family wanted to know how they could help the three children left behind.

"Radnor Strong" reads the message of support spelled out in tennis balls in one of the fences that surrounds Radnor High School, where one student lost her parents in a tragic event Sunday.

Immediately after the community learned of the deaths of Linda and Timothy Rooney, strangers to the family wanted to know how they could help the three children left behind, two of which go to Radnor public schools.

As of Wednesday, Radnor Police said there is not a public, organized way to send support to the children. But Lt. Christopher Flanagan did tell Radnor Patch that individuals have been offering support.

There have been at least a half-dozen people who have offered food, money or temporary housing for the children, who are currently staying with a local family.

A woman from New Jersey who heard about the tragedy also called police, wanting to donate money, Flanagan said.
