Report: When it Comes To Health, Delaware Ranks in Bottom Half of Pa. Counties

The healthiest county in Pennsylvania was Union, the report found.

Delaware is ranked 41st out of Pennsylvania's 67 counties when it comes to overall health, according to a new report.

The report looked at such factors as premature death, which it defined as deaths before age 75; self-reported health status; self-reported poor physical and mental days; and low birthweight.

It also considered the number of people uninsured; the number of physicians, dentists and mental-health providers; the number of preventable hospital stays; and the number of mammogram and diabetic screenings.

The healthiest county in Pennsylvania was Union, the report found. The least healthy was Philadelphia.
