12 Carols Concert

12 Carols Concert
Saturday, Dec. 3 at 7:30 p.m. A special holiday choral concert of 12 Carols, with traditional lyrics set to original music written by Lesley Hopwood Meyer (1942-2003) will be held at Hedgerow Theatre.

The carols will be performed by the St. Luke Chamber Singers under the direction of Jonathan Bowen, the organist/choirmaster at the Church of St. Luke and the Epiphany in Philadelphia. Mrs. Meyer, a cellist, composer and Rose Valley resident, wrote her first carol in 1976 as an exercise while taking a course in music composition with Dr. Matthew Colucci at the New School of Music, now part of Temple University. Her husband, architect Richard Meyer, did illustrations for it and they sent it out as their Christmas card. This is the second concert of Mrs. Meyer's carols at Hedgerow. The first was in 2009. Admission to the concert is free, but donations are welcome and will go to support Hedgerow Theatre.
