Christopher Bohn and Brad Hinton @ Burlap and Bean

An evening with Christopher Bohn and Brad Hinton.
A special double feature.

Christopher has been making music since his adolescence. A young fascination with punk rock and grunge propelled him onto the stage at 15 with his bands Fanboys and Side Project. His taste for punk rock was quickly overtaken by a love and resonance with jazz (particularly the deep spirituality of John Coltrane), modern classical music (such as Philip Glass and Stravinsky), and the experimental rock of Radiohead. Over the years, the melodies and simple chords of folk music have threaded their way through his songs. All of these influences have been wrapped up into a modern Americana. In addition to being a singer-songwriter, Christopher also performs and composes instrumental fingerstyle guitar music, drawing from the worlds of classical guitar and American folk music. Brad Hinton is at home whether he's belting out a bluegrass tune by the campfire or strutting across the stage in honky-tonk twang. Aside from singing the country blues with the Brad Hinton Band, he can be found around the Philly folk scene playing lap steel, guitar, dobro and/or banjo with Wissahickon Chicken Shack, Hezekiah Jones, Mason Porter, Honey Watts, Psalmships, Joe D’Amico Band, Manatawny Creek Ramblers and Josh Park. His first official solo release, Mourning Dove, was released in the summer of 2010. To listen to samples, visit www.reverbnation.com/bradhinton
