Friday Night Live - combining live music with live art

This Month the Community Arts Center is kicking off a new monthly event: Friday Night Live.  The event brings together live art and live music , exploring the relationship between the two.  A live band will perform in the ballroom.  During the performance, featured artists will create visual art that is inspired by and responds to the music.  The work will be auctioned off by a silent auction taking place throughout the evening. Events will be held on the last Fridays of the month.

The first Friday Night Live event is Friday, February 25th at 7:00-10:00 p.m. The Obsoleets, an eclectic seven piece band, will perform a mixture of acoustic American roots, blues and gospel music in the ballroom of the Community Arts Center. During the performance, featured artists Drew Arata, owner of Earth and State in Media, and Seth Mushrush, tattoo artist at Baker Street Tattoo, will create visual art inspired by the music. The artists will paint, draw, and use digital projection to allow the audience to watch the creations take shape in real time, larger than life!
