Soap Making Workshop

Participants in this workshop will experience the process of making soap for home use using historic materials and processes. The course will cover the process of making lye with ashes, the rendering of fat for the base, and then mixing and forming the soap. Additionally, we will discuss making soap with modern materials and the "cold water method" to encourage participants to pursue the art of soap making on their own at home. All participants should bring a pair of rubber kitchen gloves.

Pre-paid reservations are required.  You must register in advance for this workshop by calling the Plantation office at 610-566-1725.  Cost includes admission to the Plantation for the day.

Instructed by CPP Director of Education, Zach Langley.
