Meet this Super Kid and His 'Evil Mailbox'

This young author has a limitless imagination.

There are few 10 year olds who can make an impression like Garry Wagner-Robertson. The student looks like your average grade school kid but once Garry opens his mouth, his eyes light up with enthusiasm and he takes you on an adventure into his world of creativity and excitement.

And that's just his day-to-day life.

One thing that makes Garry so exceptional is that he is a published author. While most kids are complaining about their summer reading, Garry is marketing his own book.

The Evil Mailbox And The Super Burrito is a fun and zany story about a mailbox that is brought to life and finds himself on a quest for the delicious Super Burrito all while encountering everything from aliens to zombies.

The Evil Mailbox isn't just a story though. Garry created the character as a puppet after visiting Jim Henson's workshop with his beloved granddad. Together, they made Garry's first puppet, The Evil Mailbox, and he has been creating impressive puppets ever since.

"I would say Jim Henson is my idol," Garry says with a smile.

With his growing collection of self-made puppets, there's no doubt he could one day follow in the footsteps of his idol.

Initially, Garry didn't set out to write and publish a book. He began writing and sketching the story for his own amusement. Once his parents saw what was developing, they submitted the unfinished work to Schiffer Publishing and they in-turn gave Garry a book deal.

The now author worked with his mom Connie to create the amusing illustrations. Garry would sketch the pictures and Connie painted while her son edited her work to satisfy his specifications. The whole family became involved to help and support Garry as he created the hilariously, goofy book.

With all of his talents and accomplishments at such a young age, you have to wonder what Garry wants to be when he grows up. He gives an honest and realistic answer by saying he's just a kid and likes something new every day, so it's impossible to choose one thing to aspire to be.

But one thing he does want is to be know by his friends as an "insane dude" who knows when to goof around and when to be calm and he wants to always be around when someone needs a friend.

Certainly not a tall order for this bright and talented kid who has the world at his fingertips.
