Miss Pennsylvania to Attend Local Ballet

The reigning Miss Pennsylvania will introduce the Dec. 17 Nutcracker performance at the International Ballet Classique.

The reigning 2011 Miss Pennsylvania will introduce the Dec. 17 Nutcracker performance at the International Ballet Classique.

Juliann Sheldon, of the Pittsburgh area, will start the Nutcracker performance by telling the audience about the history and story of the Nutcracker Ballet and will share her personal memories of seeing her first Nutcracker Ballet.

Sheldon, whose pageant talent is dance, will then enjoy the performance with the rest of the audience.

Sheldon won the title of Miss Pennsylvania less than a year upon entering her first pageant. She heads to Las Vegas in January to compete in the Miss America pageant.

Sheldon will be in attendence at the 2 p.m., Dec. 17 Nutcracker performance at the Fred P. Meagher Theater at Neumann University, 1 Neumann Drive in Aston.

Other performance dates and times include: Dec. 16 at 7:30 p.m.; Dec. 17 at 2 and 7:30 p.m.; Dec. 18 at 2 p.m. Two children's abridged performances are also available on Dec. 15 at 10 a.m. and 11:30 p.m.
