Real Estate Brokers Refuse to Interview Realtor Alois

Alois says "Other real estate agents are shocked by brokers' refusal. I'll settle for the Delco Daily Times' endorsement any day."

Beth Alois, the Democratic Candidate for State Representative in the 168th District, is also a local Realtor with Prudential Fox & Roach Realtors; she is based in Western Delaware County and works in Delaware, Chester and New Castle Counties.  She is a member of the Board of Directors of the Chadds Ford Business Association.

Suburban Realtor Alliance, an organization that represents the broker owners of  local real estate companies, refused twice to interview Realtor Alois for their PAC sponsorship. Alois pointed out that the Pennsylvania Association of Realtors has repeatedly encouraged Realtors to run for office and that her positions were in line with those of the real estate community.  Despite her attempts SRA refused to consider her for its support. They claimed their policy didn’t allow them to speak to her because they had previously supported her opponent.

Alois said, “This is obviously a misguided policy. I have spoken with many real estate agents about the SRA’s refusal to interview to me, and they are shocked.  But I am pleased that the Delaware County Daily Times didn’t have the same policy; that board had no problem interviewing me as the challenger and endorsing me. I’ll settle for the Delco Daily Times' endorsement any day.”

Beth Alois is the pro-public education, pro-women’s rights, and pro-small business candidate in the 168th. Her opponent, Tom Killion, voted for Governor Corbett’s budget cuts to public education; he is the Governor’s front man on legislation that would make it easier for the for-profit charter school industry to drain money and resources from the public schools; he was a sponsor of Bill 1077, the Mandatory, Invasive Ultrasound Bill; and, he voted Yes on Act 13 that set unreasonably low impact fees on the Marcellus Shale natural gas extraction, thereby losing out on significant revenue for the State and decreasing the State’s ability to stimulate job creation for Pennsylvanians.

The 168th Districts includes parts of Delaware County (Media, Middletown, Edgmont, Thornbury, Rose Valley, and parts of Upper Providence, Nether Providence, and Newtown) and Westtown Township in Chester County.
