Chrome Hair Salon Best New 2012 Business

The Upper Providence Township hair salon was voted Media Patch's best new business in 2012.

Media Patch polled readers to find the best new business in 2012 and after five days of voting, the winner is clear (or should we say silver).

Chrome Hair Salon in Upper Providence pulled ahead and is Media Patch's Best New Business of 2012.

Chrome owners and Penncrest graduates Becky and Johnny Chambers took the next step in salon hair care and opened their own place in November after more than 15 years in the business.

The idea of owning and operating their own hair salon had been in the works for about five years, the husband and wife team say, but once plans were put in place the idea turned into a reality pretty quickly. They signed a lease on their Providence Road location, did a full renovation and a month later, Chrome was open for business.

Desert Rose Restaurant, on State Street in Media, came in at a well-earned second place for Best New Business of 2012. Desert Rose opened in March, also by a Penncrest graduate and husband and wife team.
