VIPERS FASTPITCH SOFTBALL PLAYERS FIGHT CHILDHOOD CANCER WITH ALEX'S LEMONADE STAND

In an effort to join the battle against childhood cancer, members of the Vipers Fastpitch Tournament Softball League will host an Alex’s Lemonade Stand on Saturday, April 28, 2012 from 8AM-3PM at 44 Gallant Fox Drive, in Media, PA. The lemonade stand is being held in honor of Taylor Bounadonna, who lost her life to cancer in 2010 at the age of 17. Taylor was a friend to many of the players who are now raising funds and awareness toward a cure.

Teammates on the Vipers will sell lemonade, baked goods and soft pretzels at the lemonade stand, which is being held at the neighborhood garage sale. Additionally, the girls have collected various items to sell, all proceeds from those items will also benefit the Foundation.

Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) emerged from the front yard lemonade stand of cancer patient Alexandra “Alex” Scott (1996-2004). In 2000, 4-year-old Alex announced that she wanted to hold a lemonade stand to raise money to help find a cure for all children with cancer. Since Alex held that first stand, the Foundation bearing her name has evolved into a national fundraising movement, complete with thousands of supporters across the country carrying on her legacy of hope. To date, Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, a registered 501(c)3 charity, has raised more than $50 million toward fulfilling Alex’s dream of finding a cure, funding over 200 research projects nationally.
