This weekend is all about strolling on State Street. On Saturday night, enjoy the 2nd Saturday Arts Stroll and then on Sunday shop for bargains at the Spring Super Sunday event. You could also catch Sleeping Beauty the musical at Media Theatre or get an autograph of a Phillies super star.

1. 2nd Saturday Arts Stroll

When/Where: Saturday, April 14, at 6 p.m. along State Street in Media

Why Go: More than 30 businesses on and around State Street in Media will stay open late as part of a free arts event. Local musicians and artists will display their works while visitors can stroll the streets and enjoy music and art. This week's featured artists include: the Jersey Corn Pickers, who will perform their energetic bluegrass music at the Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union and Artist David Gerbstadt, an artist with a distinctive style and incredible story, will display his work at the Media Pizza & Grill.

2. Spring Super Sunday

When/Where: Sunday, April 15, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., along State Street in Media

Why Go: More 150 vendors and thousands of shoppers will flood State Street this "Super" Sunday. Shop for crafts, bargains, antiques, toys, food and more. Remember State Street will be closed to traffic and parking Saturday night and bikes, skateboards and pets are not allowed (for safety reasons, due to the density of the crowds).

3. Hunter Pence and Matt Stairs Autograph Signing

Where/When: Saturday, April 14, at 9 a.m. at , 1067 W Baltimore Pike

Why Go: Get an autograph with Phillies All-Star right fielder Hunter Pence and 2008 World Series Champion Matt Stairs. Pence will be signing from 9 to 10 a.m. and Stairs will be appearing from 10 a.m. to noon. Pence autograph tickets range from $75 to $100 and Stairs is $25 per signed item. Advance tickets are strongly recommended.

4. Brooke Moore to Teach an International Ballet Classique Master Class

When/Where:  Saturday, April 14 at 10 a.m. at the , 300 S Pennell Rd, in Media

Why Go: Brook Moore will teach a Master Class in Ballet at the International Ballet Classique of Media. Moore has performed numerous soloist and lead roles in many ballets including George Balanchine's Symphony in Three Movements, Symphony in C, and The Four Temperaments; William Forsythe's Artifact Suite; Mark Morris' Pacific and Sylvia; Lew Christenen's The Nutcracker; Jerome Robbins' Glass Pieces; and Helgi Tomasson's Romeo and Juliet and Swan Lake. Students will have the opportunity to learn from a master in this Master Class.

5. Sleeping Beauty

Where/When: Saturday, April 14 at 11 a.m., at , 104 E State St.

Why Go:  Enjoy this new musical version of the classic tale, written by Delaware County mother/daughter team Laura and Tricia Kiehner. The cast is made up of Media Theatre's New School students. The show is one hour in length and is good for ages 4 and up.

Pricing: $10

 

6. Electronic Recycling Day

When/Where:  Saturday, April 14, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at W Chester Pike & N Malin Rd. in Broomall

Why Go: Marple Township will host their annual electronic recycling event at the Old Marple School yard located on West Chester Pike and Malin Road in Broomall. Bring your old TV's, computers, or small household appliances to recycle properly.

Pricing:  Free but there is a $10 fee for glass screen tv's and computers.
