Granite Run Mall Celebrates 1 Year Under New Management

Over the past year, the which have dramatically improved the overall shopping experience.

Large family-focused events are planned at the mall, and a social media promotion titled First Anniversary Celebration will offer giveaways from select tenants on April 4, as a sign of appreciation to the mall’s customers.

Mall management recently moved into new offices inside Entry #3, and in the near future, the management team plans to announce a significant new tenant that will transform the mall by attracting other retail, restaurants, and of course customers.

"During this past year we have been focused on making the necessary operational and marketing improvements to the property which has led to a significant amount of leasing conversations," commented John-david Franklin SCLS, senior vice president of Madison Marquette. "We are excited to be announcing new tenants in the near future whom we believe will allow Granite Run Mall to return to a prominent shopping destination for local, regional, and national tenants."

The operational improvements have included key items such as: improved lighting, security cameras, new signage, new mall colors, fresh graphics, upgraded interior and exterior landscaping, a fountain at center court, upgraded elevator and a recycling program.

"When we took over the property last year we recognized that we had many areas of need to address immediately, and we are pleased with the transformation that is underway and look forward to further improvements for our customers and tenants," commented Bill Leppert, mall manager for Granite Run Mall.

From a marketing perspective, the Granite Run Mall has made a conscious effort over the past year to engage the local community through social media, events, and charity support.

The current marketing campaign of, "I’m Beautiful on the Inside" has a dual meaning to include the operational improvements as well as heartfelt efforts of community and charity cooperation.

Examples of the mall’s local marketing focus have included: the opening of the Habitat for Humanity Restore, from each admission towards a local elementary school, creation of a Fountain Fundraising program, holiday giftwrapping partnerships, hosting 100 plus events annually, and leadership in the community.

"We are interested in offering our customers a much improved shopping experience by hosting unique events inside a mall that genuinely enjoys working with local community groups and organizations," commented Aubrey Proud, director of marketing for Granite Run Mall.

Proud also noted that the mall hosted the Pennsylvania Economic Forecast meeting for the International Council of Shopping Centers and the Chamber Debut for the Delaware County Chamber of Commerce.
