House Hunt: Custom Million Dollar Homes

This weekend there aren't many open houses in the area due to the holiday, so we branched out to local neighborhoods to see what was open outside of our immediate Patch areas.

There are 17 open houses scheduled for the weekend of September 1-2 in Media, Havertown, Springfield and Marple-Newtown, according to the listings on AOL Real Estate.

In Newtown Square, we continue to find the new community of custom homes behind Episcopal Academy dominating the open house circuit. There are five homes or lots open this weekend for open houses, they all boast a minimum of five bathrooms. At 2 Bridle Lane, which has seven bathrooms, is listed for $1,695,000.

In the Rose Tree Media School District, there are two open houses in the beautiful Brick House Farm Lane development. These homes boast four bedrooms, five baths and are listed at just over $1 million.

In Springfield Township, there are seven open houses on Hillcrest Road in Coventry Woods this weekend. Most of these new homes feature four bedrooms, five baths and are priced between $560K and $675K.

In Havertown, there are two open houses. 11 Springhouse Lane is a new home, with four bedrooms, three baths and is listed at $579,000. 8 Westwood Park Drive is a three bedroom colonial with new updates throughout the home and is a short walk from the golf course. The home is listed at $244,900.

For complete information on all of the area's open houses, check the listings on AOL Real Estate.

Most realtors work holidays - so you can make your own open house tour! Check out available listings at www.realestate.aol.com, then call your friendly local realtor with a list of homes to see. My favorite luxury homes on the market right now are 525 Walnut Lane in Swarthmore (6BR, 4 and a half bath stone colonial for $899,000) and 40 Wellesley Road in Swarthmore (6BR, 3 full baths, 4 half baths, stone colonial with a ballroom for $2,400,000)! For info on the community visit www.SwarthmoreRealtor.com!
