Media Patch Businesses that Closed, Opened in 2013

Several local businesses shut their doors this past year. But a few others brought new business to the area.

Several businesses closed their doors in 2013, but even more expanded or opened new businesses. But both brought changes to the Media Patch area.

Below are some of the businesses in Media Patch that closed (and opened) this year.

In September, Salad Stop on State Street closed but the storefront will soon be an expanded Fellini's.

Sassy Girl Boutique closed on State Street late in the summer but that space soon transformed to Media F.C., Media's first soccer shop, which opened on Small Business Saturday.

Dominic’s Hand Carved Roast Beef & Roast Pork opened inside the Granite Run Mall in February.

Double Decker Pizza opened its fourth location on Baltimore Avenue in September after an extensive renovation project. 

A new burger joint, Buddy's Burgers, Breast and Fries opened in June at the former Zac's Hamburgers location on State and Orange streets. 

In June, YogurTissimo, the newest frozen yogurt shop, opened on State Street in Media.

Jana's Hair Studio opened in Middletown Township in January in a location that also was a former Sassy Girl location. 

Tea and Cakes Tea Room served its last cup of tea and closed in February and its neighbor, House, chose to expand in its place and now serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. 

A new Giant Supermarket opened in Edgmont Township in November. 

Republic Bank opened a new location at Providence Road and Baltimore Avenue in November.
