Middletown Twp. Gears Up for Annual Community Day

The 18th annual event will be held on Saturday, May 12.

Residents, local businesses, and township government in will come together to celebrate hometown pride during the 2012 Community Day. The event will be held on Saturday, May 12 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at .

There will be entertainment for all ages, including an artwork display by the Simon Youth Academy, an appearance by “Stubby” the helicopter, moon bounces, fire engine and hay rides, along with interactive games, like duck pond and bean bag toss. Games are free, but there will be minimal charges for some activities, like pony rides and face-painting.

There will be live music throughout the day, including HCI Optimist Music Fest, which is comprised of several teenage bands from .

Several local restaurants and vendors, such as, Peking Restaurant, and Parks and Recreation Hot Dogs, will be on hand cooking up their specialties.

During Community Day, Cradles to Crayons will collect new and gently used toys, clothing, shoes and other basic needs for children. Cradles to Crayons is a non-profit organization that provides homeless and low-income children in the five-county area with everyday essentials.

Greener Partners of Hillside Farm in Elwyn will be on hand to promote connecting communities through food, farming, and education.

The event is organized by Middletown Township Parks and Recreation in conjunction with the Middletown Township Business and Professional Association. It is sponsored by The Shirley Booth Team, , and Middletown Commons.
