Mrs. Marty's Deli Expanding to Bryn Mawr

The deli is expected to open in early February, the owner said.

BRYN MAWR–, a Media favorite, is opening its third location in Bryn Mawr, likely the first weekend in February, said owner Marty Godfrey.

"I'm very excited, and I've been inundated—very nicely—by all the lovely people in the area wishing me well and wanting to know when I could open for eight or nine months," Godfrey said.

Mrs. Marty's Deli opened in in 1984 and then its second location in . Godfrey and co-owner Scott Finkelstein chose the 22 N. Bryn Mawr Ave. location (next to the ) because there's no other deli in the area and because a frequent customer of the Broomall location owns the building and convinced Godfrey to bring the shop there, he said.

The Bryn Mawr deli will offer the same Jewish staples as at the other two Mrs. Marty's Delis, including matzo ball soup, smoked fishes, brisket, tongue, a homemade corned beef, kosher salami and pickles, as well as fresh rye bread and fresh bagels daily, Godfrey said.

The deli will offer both take-out and sit-down service and should seat between 65 and 70 people, he added. They will also offer over-the-counter lunch meats and to-go dinners.

"We just want to welcome everyone and tell them to give us a try," Godfrey said. "Don't tell us how good we are. Tell us what we're doing wrong, and we'll correct it... We're going to try to make it as nice as we possibly can."

The deli will be open seven days a week, from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sundays.
