Visions For Vacancies: Getty Gas Station in Media

What would you like to see at the former Getty Gas Station on Baltimore Pike in Media?

The former at 401 E. Baltimore Ave. in Media closed a few months. What type of business would you like to see go up at that location?

According to All Things Media, Pa. Blog, the Getty also sold cajun food and repaired computers as a side business during its years on Baltimore Pike.

There are several other gas stations within a one to two block radius, with across the street and and right up the block. There has also been as well.

The corner is definitely a high traffic area so if the right business moves in, it could be very successful.

Media Patch wants to know what you would like to see at the corner of Manchester and Baltimore avenues in Media. Tell us.

Maybe a Barnes and Noble would work well here since Borders in Springfield closed.

A Super Wawa would be just that "super" but you need to make sure all of the small wawa employees are transferred to new WAWA Frank and the gang are the best in the a.m. get everyone awake and happy from their pleasant greetings, by name for most visitors and Frank is a hoot, the ring leader, always dress for Holidays, just really make my morning everyday!!!!!

The Super Wawa is actually being talked about for an area down the street a bit, closer to Starbucks. No official plans proposed yet.

Hopefully it won't be yet another bank.

I love Ms. Elko's idea of a bookstore

underground gasoline storage tanks pose a costly burden to redevelopment into anything other than another gas station. A decent mixed use building that is built close to the street with parking in the rear or structured would be ideal and probably expensive. I don't really care what use occupies the ground floor; but it should be non residential. Apartments and offices should go on 2nd and 3rd floor.

Perhaps a Soft Pretzel place?
