The Rose Valley Swimming and Tennis Club will host an open house on the evening of Monday, June 17 for members and other families interested in the club’s youth programs this summer. All are invited to the club for children’s “just for fun” Ribbon Races starting in the pool at 5 PM, followed by a potluck dinner. Guests are invited to check out the pool and its swimming and tennis programs and junior teams, which begin their seasons that day.

For the first time in many years, the Club will offer small group swimming lessons this summer. Children four years and older can learn to swim safely in half-hour sessions held mornings and evenings in June and July. Expert instructors will cover water safety, floating, treading water, proper kicking and breathing techniques, diving from the side of the pool and jumping from the diving board. Each group is limited to five children. Lessons are open to members and nonmembers of the Club.

Lessons will be held on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. Session 1 runs from June 24 through July 11 (no class July 4); Session 2 is July 15 through August 1. Groups will be made up by age and ability and will run for a half-hour between 9:30 and 10:30 AM and between 7 and 8 PM. The cost is $70 for Session 1 and $75 for Session 2.
