July 23, 2012

As I woke up today and had a message from one of my archer students, who I've become everything from her second mom, to her best friend, and now a godmother to her daughter. The Message read HAPPY BIRTHDAY.

Yes, it is a Happy Birthday. Not many people can say that they spent their 50th B-day at the Olympic Games—but I can.

As we arrive at the field, the sun is shining and the archers are getting ready to shoot their arrows into the center. Our team of archers keeps improving each day. Their confidence is becoming higher and higher and it shows with the arrows hitting in the center. The women’s team and men’s team practiced team round also today and are looking very strong and everyone is having a good time.

We had to leave the field early this afternoon, since there was going to be a protest by the taxi about the Olympic lanes. Starting on July 25 there will be lanes only for the Olympic buses, but I heard that the taxi could use them too.

Went to dinner and had shrimp, rice, piece of cake and ice cream. Then I treated myself to a massage. Yes, a birthday gift to me.

Getting ready for a team press conference with NBC tomorrow morning. That will take place at 9:30 a.m.

Well that is all today from LONDON. Stay tuned for tomorrow.
