Fall into Fitness for Older Adults

Health programs for older adults at area libraries

 

Older adults are encouraged to learn healthy eating habits and low impact exercises to stay healthy and keep in shape for the winter and upcoming holiday seasons.

The Ridley Park Public Library will sponsor a six-week Tai Chi course taught by Marc Shay at the Ridley Park Borough Hall. This course will begin on Tuesday, Sept. 25 and will continue on Tuesdays through Oct. 30. The course will be from 12:30 to 1:15 p.m.

A six-week nutrition course will be taught at the Ridley Township Public Library beginning Thursday Sept. 27 and continuing every Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. through November 1. This course is being taught by Ciara Levine, MSN, RN.

Registration is required for both courses and may be made by calling the Ridley Park Public Library at 610-583-7207, the Ridley Township Public Library at 610-583-0593 or online at www.delcolibraries.org by clicking the “Library Events” icon.

Both courses are made possible by a generous grant from the Taylor Community Foundation to the Library Foundation of Delaware County.
