Tickets Available At Gate For Hero Bowl To Be Played May 30 At Widener University

Tickets will be available at the gate for the 37th annual Hero Bowl to benefit the Hero Scholarship Fund of Delaware County, Inc., on the night of the game, Thursday, May 30. The all-star high school football game will be played at Widener University with kickoff at 7.30 p.m. Admission is $5.

Some 90 of the best senior high school football players from the Central and Del-Val leagues, Episcopal Academy, Haverford School and Archbishop Carroll, Cardinal O’Hara and Monsignor Bonner-Archbishop Prendergast high schools will meet in the traditional springtime sports highlight event. A one-mile boys relay race will be held at halftime. Pregame festivities will begin at 7 p.m.

The Hero Scholarship Fund was established in 1977 by Delaware County Council to provide scholarship aid for the children of police, firefighters and emergency medical personnel who have lost their lives in the line of duty.
