County employees collect wardrobe donations to benefit PA WorkWear clients seeking employment

Securing employment is challenging in today’s economy and many individuals can benefit from assistance in securing a job. The employees of the Delaware County Department of Domestic Relations added their assistance by collecting suits, uniforms, shoes and other professional attire to be donated items to PA WorkWear to assist clients looking to get back out into the workforce.

The Domestic Relations staff partnered with the members of the Delaware County Bar to collect well over 65 bags of clothing from Aug. 15 to Sept. 15, handing the donations over to PA WorkWear.

PA WorkWear is a non-profit agency that provides professional clothing to clients of the Domestic Relations department and residents of Delaware County to improve their chances of securing employment. PA WorkWear assists approximately 800 individuals in Delaware County per year with the proper clothing for them to attend interviews for employment purposes.

Stable employment gives clients involved in the Domestic Relations process the ability to provide regular support payments to meet a child’s needs.

At PA WorkWear, employees work with clients to select outfits that are appropriate for an interview and place of employment. The program is funded by the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare to help men and women transition to employment. They also receive referred clients from other programs such as Work Ready, CareerLink and Educational Data Systems Incorporated (EDSI) which are also programs that assist the Domestic Relations clients.
