Delaware County Council Welcomes Axalta, 232 Jobs To New North American Headquarters in Concord

          County Council Chairman Thomas J. McGarrigle welcomed Axalta Coating Systems to Delaware County on Oct. 2 when company representatives announced Axalta was establishing its North American headquarters in Concord Township.

            McGarrigle said at the announcement held in the County Council Public Meeting Room in the Government Center, Media, that Axalta will bring 232 jobs to Delaware County when it moves into its new 55,000-square-foot facility in late October.

            Axalta Coating Systems is a leading global supplier of liquid and powder coatings with more than 12,000 employees in 130 countries on six continents.  It operates 35 manufacturing facilities, seven research and development centers and 42 customer training centers.

            “We are excited to welcome Axalta to Delaware County just as we are launching a 10-year economic development strategy that positions the county to be innovative and competitive in fostering business expansion here,” McGarrigle said.

            “Axalta’s arrival in Concord reinforces the county’s position as a leader in job growth in Pennsylvania and we look forward to having Axalta and its employees as exciting members of our business family.”

            He said funding from the Delaware County Redevelopment Authority was provided from restricted funds from the gaming industry which are eligible for the endeavor.

            McGarrigle was joined by his colleagues on County Council—Vice Chairman Mario J. Civera Jr.,

            Colleen P. Morrone, John P. McBlain and David J. White—at the announcement attended by Axalta global representatives Eric Degenfelder, Vice President Business Transformation, and Matthew Winokur, Vice President Corporate Affairs, as well as Norman Hetrick, Southeast Regional Director for the Governor’s Action Team.
