Members of the transportation planning office worked with the staff in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to issue the third edition of the Delaware County Public Transportation Map and Guide.

The guide serves as a reference to SEPTA’s public transit system in Delaware County, as well as an information guide which details the location of universities or colleges, businesses, shopping centers, hospitals, senior care facilities, parks and more. The guide even includes a list of Delaware County historic and cultural places to visit.

There is also detailed fare information including discounted fare options such as TrailPass, Transpass and RideECO.

“One of the major strengths of Delaware County is its extensive transportation system that includes rail, bus and the famous trolley,” said County Councilwoman Colleen Morrone, Council’s liaison to the Planning Department. “We support public transit and our transportation staff has created this easy-to-use guide to make the use of public transportation as easy as possible for our residents.”

A significant portion of Delaware County is served by the SEPTA system, ensuring that residents have a convenient, efficient and environmentally pleasant travel alternative to driving.

The map displays all bus, regional rail, trolley, and high-speed rail services in Delaware County, with certain routes in neighboring Chester and Montgomery counties and the City of Philadelphia.

The guide details all regional rail stations and bus routes serving Delaware County.  Information includes the frequency of bus service (the time between successive buses,) the number of parking spaces at train stations, parking permit requirements, ticket and pass prices, and on-board bicycle policies, as well as bicycle parking at regional rail stations.

This guide also provides information for Amtrak, DART First State, New Jersey Transit, Delaware County TMA and PATCO regional transit stations.

Free copies of the Delaware County Transportation Map and Guide are available at county libraries, municipal offices, major businesses, education and medical facilities, shopping areas, and senior care centers within Delaware County. These maps are also available at the transportation information kiosk located in the lobby of the Government Center building in Media. You can also view these maps online at www.co.delaware.pa.us
