Mall Gala Raises $17,825 for American Heart Assoc.

The Granite Run Mall's first Sweetheart Gala exceeded its fundraising goals.

The Granite Run Mall's first Sweetheart Gala exceeded its fundraising goals, raising $17,825 for the American Heart Association.

The formal Gala held on March 2 was organized by and hosted at Granite Run Mall and raised funds through sponsorships, donations, ticket sales and a silent auction.

"The American Heart Association provides a crucial service in the fight against cardiovascular disease and we are thrilled to have garnered support from the entire community to benefit this important cause,” said Aubrey Proud, director of marketing at Granite Run Mall, in a press release. “The event would not have been such a success without the generosity of so many of our local businesses and community members, and for that we are grateful."

More than 120 local members of the community, enjoyed food, drinks and dancing to local 10-piece band, The FM Band. Attendees participated in a silent auction, winning prizes including a family membership to the Rocky Run YMCA, a $500 paintball package, hotel stays, golf foursomes and gift packages from many local restaurants, spas and theaters.

The Keynote Speaker for the evening was Dr. Robert Bulgarelli, director of integrative cardiovascular medicine at Riddle Hospital. “Dr. Bob” as his patients call him, shared the long standing relationship Main Line Health & Riddle Hospital have had in supporting the Go Red For Women initiative with the American Heart Association. He also expressed how much Main Line Health & Riddle Hospital enjoy serving the healthcare needs of the community.
