Media Mayor Heads to White House Reception

Media Mayor Bob McMahon was invited by the President of the United States to attend a reception at the White House.

Media Mayor Bob McMahon causally announced at Thursday's meeting that he has been invited by the President Barack Obama to attend a reception at the White House.

Irish Prime Minister Enda Kenny is the special guest at Tuesday's reception in honor of St. Patrick's Day.

McMahon said he believes his Irish heritage may have been the influence behind his invitation.

"I'm Irish and I'm also a mayor," McMahon said. "So therefore, I wanted to let people know that I was invited by the President and Mrs. Obama to a reception next Tuesday night at the White House."

McMahon will attend the White House dinner with his daughter.

He said he has met several Presidents but never a sitting President.

"So this will be the first time I'm meeting an actual sitting President, so I look forward to that," McMahon said.
