Public Opinion Sought in 3rd Street Bridge Project

The 3rd St. Project Citizens Advisory Committee held a public meeting recently asking for the public's opinion. Media Borough Council will also mail a survey to residents.

appointed nine residents as members to the newly formed Third Street Project Citizen's Advisory Committee at its January meeting. The Committee has been charged with bringing its recommendation to council by April 1.

At Monday night's meeting, more than 100 residents heard options of what to do with the bridge and dam and were able to ask questions, according to the Delaware County Daily Times.

Borough Council had after residents voiced . There are currently three proposed designs for the project, one that would return it to a roadway, one that would make it a greenway and pedestrain area, and one that would breach or remove the dam entirely.

All Things Media Pa. Blog, questioned if there is a "special interest" in delaying the project.

However, any decision that is made must be —the borough, the county and Broomall's Lake Country Club.

Borough residents and business owners will receive a survey in the near future and are encouraged to voice their opinions on the project.
