Middletown Township may have been the hardest hit area within Media Patch during Superstorm Sandy. The township was still seeing significant power outages and some road closures Wednesday.
Below is an update from Township Administration as of 10 a.m. Wednesday.

Barren Rd. Between the High School and Painter
Howarth Road between Ahrens and the creek
Valley between Hermitage and Darlington
W. Forge Rd.- Between Stephen & Paul
In Delaware County, between 5,000-10,000 customers were without power, as of 11 p.m. Wednesday. Many customers' power was restored over night but Middletown Township still has the most significant number of outages in our area with between 501-1,500 outages as of 11 p.m. Wednesday.
Recycling Pick Up and Yard Waste Collection
Township recycling services are aware of the road closures and working around them as much as possible to maintain the normal schedule. Follow your regular schedule but if your recycling is not picked up please wait until the next scheduled pick up.
The next yard waste collection is Nov. 21. An additional yard waste date is being considered and if one is scheduled, there will be an announcement on the township website and community bulletin board.
The township is leaving the decision up to individual neighborhoods. Stay safe and use common sense.
