More than 1,000 people welcomed home Delaware County's Armed Forces in Media on .
The event aimed to educate veterans—especially those who have served since 9/11—about all the benefits to which they are entitled.
During the parade that ran down State Street, there was also a flag passing ceremony, during which American flags were passed from older to younger veterans, to symbolize gratitude for their service to the country.
Two Delaware County veterans were selected as the grand marshals for the parade: Lt. Col. Mark O'Hanlon and Cpl. Russell L. "Rusty" Carter.
