There isn't always time to sit down and read the news. So in case you missed any of the week's stories, here's a look at what happened in the greater Media area over the course of the week.

It was a week featuring Mother Nature herself. We started off the week with an earthquake in Virginia that shook all the way through Media and as far north as New York. Then Hurricane Irene headed our way and we gave readers everything they needed to know to prepare for the expected bad weather. As well as up-to-the-minute updates on what was happening in our area throughout the storm.

Friday, Aug. 26

Delaware County is under a hurricane warning, according to the National Weather Service.

The Delaware County SPCA needs assistance with animals and supplies in preparation for Hurricane Irene.

An emergency declaration will enable local governments to better respond to Hurricane Irene and the damage she is expected to inflict upon the Philadelphia area.

The American Red Cross of Southeastern Pennsylvania provides safety tips.

The latest forecast track from the National Hurricane Center projects Irene will pass well offshore of the east coast of central and north Florida Thursday night and early Friday.

Through Sunday the Delco SPCA is offering "hurricane" adoption specials for its animals.
