Positions Held Previously/Years in Office: Current Position—Media Mayor for last 22 years. Media Borough Council for 10 years previously

What is the role of the mayor in Media Borough and how will you take on those duties? 

As mayor my primary responsibility is public safety. A position that presents challenges every day. Unofficially, I have been responsible for keeping Media front and center in economic development efforts and public awareness. It has been my pleasure to develop programs honoring our veterans (parades, museum, educational videos). 

I have worked tirelessly with the business district, restaurants and Media Theatre to make Media's downtown vibrant. 

What are the larger issues facing the borough and how would you like to see them resolved?

Borough officials and residents are in the process of developing our 10 year Comprehensive Plan. As part of the task force it is my hope to provide historical prospective to the process and at the same time look at new ideas and trends that will work for Media. This is about Media's future and it is important to encourage citizen participation.

We can learn from the past. And what we have learned in Media is that proper planning leads to success. Look at our previous comprehensive plans and look at our development in our business district, our public safety, our property values and the desire our residents have to volunteer for various boards and commissions and be part of the success of "Everybody's Hometown."

If elected, what changes would you like to see in the municipality or what is working well and you'd like to continue?

Each year more and more visitors are coming to Media. I believe there needs to be more efficiency and outside the box ideas on parking. As part of the comprehensive plan I am making several suggestions to improve the parking situation in both the business and residential areas.

Why should residents give you their vote?

It continues to be an honor to serve the residents of Media as your mayor and I would like to continue the ongoing battle to maintain and keep the character that makes our town unique.
