This 10-week one-hour course is primarily for ages 6 to 9, or for those beginning to explore an interest in theatre. Classes are structured to include exercises for building basic speaking skills on stage (volume, diction), learning stage directions, and developing self-esteem. Fun theatre exercises are used to introduce foundational acting skills, based on The Meisner Technique, which advances the idea that “Acting is living as truthfully as one can under an imaginary circumstance,”. Each student has the opportunity for one-on-one instruction with the educator within a group environment. Students are given plenty of opportunity to learn what it takes to be who they are, be proud of who they are, and to become a young actor at their own level of experience.
