Delco Food Swappers Kickoff Food Swap Event

Middletown Presbyterian Church is sponsoring a local food swap!  The Delco Food Swappers is having their Inaugural Food Swap event on Tuesday November 19th, from 7pm-9pm located on the bottom floor of Fellowship Hall.

What's a food swap?

According to the Food Swap Network

"A food swap is a recurring event where members of a community share homemade, homegrown, or foraged foods with each other. Swaps allow direct trades to take place between attendees, e.g., a loaf of bread for a jar of pickles or a half-dozen backyard eggs. Swap events also include a potluck as an immediate food-sharing (and sometimes item-sampling) component. These events are a delicious way to diversify the homemade foods in your own pantry while getting to know members of your local food community."

Join us for an evening of swapping your unique homemade treats!!!

Details:

What:  A food swap is similar to the old-fashioned cookie swap ~ but BETTER! It is an open-house type setting where your homemade creations become your barter tools to trade/swap with others.  It is a great way to try unique/diversified items that you might not have been able to try otherwise.

Who:  Everyone is welcome!  The only key is to bring something you made, grew, or foraged yourself.  You must pre-register in order to attend the event.  Please remember that tickets are limited, so if you are unable to attend, please notify Delco Food Swappers immediately so that we can offer your spot to someone else that might be able to attend. Everyone intending to partake in the swap must register separately.

What:  All items that are approved for swapping must be either homemade, homegrown or foraged.  Bring your specialties like spiced jams, preserves, baked goods, honey, granola, homemade pastas and sauces, soups, chilis and yogurts.  If you made it ~ bring it!   The list is endless......... and only limited to your imagination!
