Meshuggah-Nuns!

The habits are back in Dan Goggins' musical sequel to Nunsense!

Nunsense hits the high seas as the Little Sisters of Hoboken go on a “Faith of All Nations” cruise. The captain enlists their aid when seasickness strikes everyone in the cast of the shipboard production of Fiddler on the Roof except the actor playing Tevye. The nuns come to the rescue and join him to put on the show, adding their own hilarious, ecumenical touches to the classic musical in songs like “Contrition,” “Say It in Yiddish,” and “If I Were a Catholic.”

Three of the actresses in the cast have appeared in both Nunsense and Nuncrackers at Hedgerow. Ensemble leader Micki Sharpe reprises her role of Sister Robert Ann, which she first played at the Society Hill Playhouse 20 years ago. Heidi Starr, a professional vocal coach from Morton, returns as Sister Amnesia and Hedgerow veteran Susan Wefel once again plays Sister Mary Hubert. They’re joined by Connie Norwood, who appeared at Hedgerow in John Brown’s Body last spring, as the Reverend Mother. Playing Tevye is Tom Teti, a well-known local actors who teaches acting at the theatre and last performed there in its critically acclaimed production of ‘Art’.
