Dog License and Microchip Clinic

Delaware County dog owners have a unique opportunity to enjoy a walk in the park, while enhancing their dog’s safety by getting a 2012 license and microchip all at the same time.

County dog owners are invited to get their four-legged friend a current state-mandated dog license plus a microchip at a License and Microchip Clinic, 9 a.m.-noon Saturday, April 14, in the Maintenance Building adjacent to the Hunt Club at Rose Tree Park, Route 252 and Rose Tree Road, Upper Providence.

Delaware County Council is partnering with the Delaware County Kennel Club to provide free microchips to any Delaware County dog. A small electronic chip, approximately the size of a grain of rice, will be implanted in the dog and scanned on site to ensure it is functioning properly.

A dog with a microchip is eligible for a lifetime dog license for a fee of $31.45 if the dog is neutered and $51.45 for all others. Annual dog licenses, which need to be renewed every year, are $6.45
